It's happened! Both teams have exchanged their first improv challenge! The Vic High Sharks sent... "Let's see as many ways of incorporating a banana (or the symbol it inspires) into a scene as possible." Our sister team sent... " You must incorporate 5 Sloveninan words into your scene. The words are: ŠELESTENJE, ČRMLJ, SRŠEN, PIŠČALKA and PREPEČENEC ." Now, each team will be working on their response to their challenge over the next month and by the end of November we have to have filmed and uploaded our response - stay tuned! If you'd like to know how these words sound in Slovenian, check out this video... Slovenian Word Pronounciations from The Vic High Sharks Improv on Vimeo . The order is ČRMLJ, ŠELESTENJE, PREPEČENEC, SRŠEN and PIŠČALKA. They mean... Bumblebee, Rustling, Biscuits, Hornets, and Whistles.
The Victoria High School (Vic High) Improv Club is all about giving students the opportunity to build excellent team work and public speaking skills and above all, to have fun! The club is run by Jonathan Argue (Improviser, past Managing Director of the Impromaniacs Theatre Company Society) and Kim Sholinder (Drama Teacher, Vic High). Thanks to Zoe Schmit, Emily Fraser and Lily Macgregor who step in to coach as their schedules permit. You can reach us at imagination [at] vichighimprov.ca.
