Berlin 2016 Travelers And so this trip comes to an end! It's been almost a year in the making and the results were off the charts! We have many people to thank, but most importantly we want to thank Christoph Jungman (Producer, Berlin International Improv Festival) and Die Gorillas for their unparalleled generosity towards us! Christoph designed a one-of-a-kind program for us at the festival which had us taking workshops from two outstanding improvisers, Camilla Frey (Oslo, Norway) and Björn Harras (Berlin, Germany), attending a grand total of seven festival performances, and, the icing on the cake, performing at the opening act for the show, Spranguage, on Saturday, March 19. Trips like these have lasting positive effects on the students that attend them and this trip certainly left plenty memories in the minds of both the students and the chaperons (Alan Penty, Grace Leach and Jonathan Argue) which will last for years to come. The Victoria High School (Vic High) Improv Club is all about giving students the opportunity to build excellent team work and public speaking skills and above all, to have fun! The club is run by Jonathan Argue (Improviser, past Managing Director of the Impromaniacs Theatre Company Society) and Kim Sholinder (Drama Teacher, Vic High). Thanks to Zoe Schmit, Emily Fraser and Lily Macgregor who step in to coach as their schedules permit. You can reach us at imagination [at] vichighimprov.ca.
