Vic High Sharks open the Impro LightBox run at the METRO Studio!

Our very own Vic High Sharks are opening the run of Impro LightBox at the METRO Studio, on Wednesday, October 9th!!

Impro LightBoX is an innovative and original concept imagined by Franck BuzZ (France) in which the lighting atmospheres (created in light and video), randomly associated with soundscapes, are the starting point of each new scene. The actors discover these atmospheres at the same time as the audience, and embark on a variety of unexpected stories. It is a real theatrical playground where everyone can give free rein to their talent and creativity. It's beautiful, spectacular, poetic and funny. Come take it in full!

This amazing opportunity was made possible by Imaginary Table Theatre, who is bringing the creator of the format, professional improviser Franck Buzz all the way over from France!!

The evening opens with the Vic High "Platform 61" Dancers performing their signature piece, followed by our Vic High "Sharks" Improv Club members (in 2 separate casts) performing in Impro LightBox. The evening finishes with another piece developed by "Platform 61".

Don't miss this unique opportunity to see these students perform in the format at it's debut in Victoria!

Location: METRO Studio, 1411 Quadra Street

Tickets are available ONLINE and at the DOOR (CASH ONLY).

Christmas Tree Chipping Fundraiser a success!

We are very excited to have been invited to attend the  Berlin Improv Festival   in March 2014!  This will be the first time ever in the festival’s 13 year history where they have hosted a high school improv group and we’re excited to be part of this unique event! Over their 10 day stay in Berlin, our students will participate in 4 days of workshops from two different instructors (not from the US or Canada) and will perform for a local school audience at the end. They also will be enjoying the festival performances and taking time to visit the historic city of Berlin itself. For a group of 16 students, the total cost is $32,000 CDN which includes their return airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, workshops and access to the festival. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 to help reduce the per student cost to approximately $1,600. We spent this past weekend (January 4-5, 2014) collecting Christmas Trees as a fundraiser for the trip. Day #2 Crew: Conall, Fletcher, Jac
